Die meisten jungen Leute kennen der Serie “How I met your mother”. Doch wer weiß etwas über den Titelsong? Woher kommt das Lied, wurde es für die Serie geschrieben? Oder steckt dahinter eine Band die es sich eventuell zu entdecken lohnt?
Das Lied, welches das musikalische Element für den HIMYM Themesong liefert, heißt “Hey Beautiful” und stammt von der Band “The Solids”, einer Pop Band aus Connecticut. Die seit 1996 bestehende Band setzt sich derzeit aus den Mitgliedern Carter Bays, Craig Thomas, Patrick Butler, und C.C. DePhil zusammen. Bekannt wurden sie durch einen anderen Titelsong einer Serie. Dieser hieß “Future is now” und wurde damals für die “Oliver Beene” Show verwendet.
Mir gefällt ein weiterer Song der Band, mit dem Titel “You don’t know what you’ve begun”, ganz gut.
Der Titelsong für Grey’s Anatomy ist auch recht nett. Simpel, auf das nötigste reduziert vermag er es höchst effektiv eine Stimmung zu vermitteln. Er heißt “Cosy In The Rocket” und stammt von Psapp.

Vor Jahren rief ich ein wöchentliches Hamburger Philosphie-Treffen ins Leben. Jeden Sonntag traf sich eine Gruppe von Philosophen (Studenten und Doktoranden) zum gemeinsamen Kaffee trinken und Philosophieren im Café May in Hamm. Niklas, ein befreundeter Physiker (Nebenfach Philosophie), gab mir eines Tages die DVD der Serie “The Big Bang Theorie” , für die ich mich sofort begeistern konnte. Nun verbinde ich die Episoden mit der schönen Zeit meines Philosophiestudiums. Die Charaktere erinnern mich sehr an mein Umfeld. Fairerweise sei gesagt, dass auch ich mir den ein oder anderen “nerdigen” Charakterzug eingestehen muss. Doch auch für völlig “Außenstehende”, die weniger mit Physikern im Speziellen, oder Nerds im Allgemeinen zu tun haben, kann die Serie durchaus unterhaltend sein.
Der Titelsong stammt von den Barenaked Ladies. Dabei handelt es sich um eine kanadische Rockband aus Toronto, die sich aus den vier männlichen Mitgliedern Ed Robertson (Gitarre, Gesang), Jim Creeggan (Bass, Gesang), Kevin Hearn (Keyboard, Gitarre, Gesang) und Tyler Stewart (Schlagzeug, Gesang), zusammensetzt. Die Texte sind herrlich komisch und ironisch, die Musik ist gut gemacht. Ihre bekanntesten Songs sind, neben dem Titelsong “The History of Everything”, die Lieder “Enid”, “If I Had”, “One Week” und “Pinch Me”.

Der König aller Titelsongs ist wohl “I’ll be There For You” von “The Rembrandts”. Dabei handelt es sich nämlich um den Theme Song der Serie “Friends”.
Die 1989 gegründete Rock-Band “The Rembrandts” bestand aus den Musikern Danny Wilde und Phil Solem. Das U.S-amerikansiche Duo verzeichnete mehrere musikalische Erfolge u.a. mit Titeln wie “Save me” oder “Just the way it is, baby”. Das bekannteste Lied blieb jedoch sicherlich der Titelsong der Serie Friends “I’ll be There For You”.
